Classic Chocolate Brownies Recipe,
Classic Chocolate Brownies Recipe

This Chocolate Brownies recipe has turned out perfectly every time for me, with a slight crunch on the outside yet moist, chewy and fudgy on the inside. Traditionally Brownies contain pecans or walnuts, but I prefer them without nuts, just deliciously chocolatey! I also prefer to use milk chocolate, but again Brownie recipes would normally use dark chocolate (you choose whichever you prefer).
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°C / 350°C / Gas Mark 4
- Put the butter and sugar into a mixing bowl and beat until soft and creamy
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, and continue beating until soft and fluffy
- Break the chocolate into a microwaveable bowl and cook on full power for 1 minute (to melt it). Remove and stir, then cook for a further 30 seconds or until completely melted
- Add the melted chocolate to the brownie mixture and stir until well combined
- Sieve the flour and cocoa powder into the mixture and stir
- Add the chocolate chunks (and nuts if using)
- Transfer the mixture to a lined baking tin (23cm square or similar size) and spread out until level
- Bake in the centre of a pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes or until an inserted skewer comes out just clean
- Remove from oven and leave in the tin to cool until just warm
- Remove and cut into 20 pieces (trim off the uneven edges first so you get nice, neat squares)

The chocolate brownies were easy to make. My dad enjoyed eating them. My brother liked them too! I had to hide my brownies because my brother was going to eat them all and then there would be none left.
I like dark chocolate but I prefer milk chocolate so next time I will make milk chocolate brownies.
